Pvt. First Class Robert Louis Baker

Pvt. First Class Robert Louis Baker of Bonners Ferry graduated on Oct. 30 from U.S. Marine Corps boot cap in San Diego.

Baker completed 13 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. He was one of 72 recruits in Honor Training Platoon No. 3271.

While in basic training, Baker was in the top three for rifle shooting, qualifying as an expert rifleman.

After a 10-day leave at home, he reported to Camp Pendleton in California for one month of military combat training.

Baker in January will pursue a bachelor’s in criminal justice at North Idaho College. He will do military occupational specialty schooling next summer.
