Group raising money for needy through craft fair
A group of local ladies who want to share their passion for crafts with a needy family this Christmas will be part of Boundary County Celebration of Crafts on Friday, Dec. 4, and Saturday, Dec. 5, at Boundary County Fairgrounds.
The ladies call themselves The Tattered Hats, said member Cynthia Goodanetz. Other members are Annette Karrick, Darlene Miller, Jenny Grahm, Lilly Blackwell, Deb Whittaker, Reba Darling, Sandra Ennis, Charly Wells and Shirley Facha.
Working alone and together, The Tattered Hats have come up with handmade gifts, in which most will be sold for under $5.
“A lot of the stuff is $2 so it’s very affordable,” Goodanetz said.
All proceeds will go to a local family for Christmas.
Some of the items will include wire angels, walking sticks, shabby sheik table items, Christmas candles and table-top decorations, Goodanetz said.
Some will sell for $1.
“I have a slate that is 8 by 6 (inches),” Goodanetz said. “It’s real slate surrounded by wood and has a saying on it, ‘Peace, Love and Joy.”
Doors for the event open 10 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.
