Libby beats Badgers 1-0

Bonners Ferry boys soccer team lost 1-0 to Libby on Thursday in a non-conference game.

The Badgers, who two days earlier clinched first place in the Intermountain League and first seed in the district playoffs, are 7-4-1 overall and 5-0 in the league.

Logger Edson Vences scored the lone goal when he got into the path of a ball kicked by Bonners Ferry keeper Matt Evans. The ball hit Vences in the chest and bounced into the net for a goal. The play occurred in the game’s 61st minute.

The boys will travel to Lakeland Saturday, Oct. 3, for a 10 a.m. game and then to St. George for a 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, match.
