Watt makes 7 blocks

Bonners Ferry Senior Casey Watt came up with seven blocks and four kills, but the Badgers lost to the Lady Spartans, 25-9, 25-23 and 25-16.

Tana Schneider tallied 14 assists with six digs, and Miranda Stippich and Markayle Accord both accounted for two aces for Bonners Ferry. The Lady Badgers are 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the Intermountain League.

Badger head coach Janis Tucker said after the game she thought her team, “Came out flat the first game but it was nice to see them come back and play better in the second game. Priest River is a good team with smart hitters, good setters and servers.”

Spartan Melissa Hopkins showed her serving ability, reigning down five jump serves for aces in the first game. Senior teammates Taylor Stewart and Chelsea Linton helped out with 10 kills and 22 assists respectively. Stewart also added 13 digs and Whitney Hill 3 blocks in the win.
