The Bonners Ferry High School boys soccer team go to districts playing last place Priest River at 3 p.m. Friday Oct. 16,  at Lakeland High School.

The Badgers finished with an overall league record of 9-6-1.

The Badgers finished first in the Intermountain League and beat Orofino twice by 3-0 scores, and St. Maries 4-2 and 2-0.

Badgers Coach Ed Moe feels good going into districts.  He said  there are a few kids out with the flu, but hopes they will be healthy by the weekend.

Moe said Priest River doesn't match up very well with anyone, as they are young and inexperienced.

According to Moe the Badgers  have more skill than either  St. Maries or Orofino, but still have to play a controlled, passing game to win.

“It would be nice to get some early goals on Saturday which would help open up their defense as they would have to try and score to even things up,” said Moe.  “We don't want to let them hang around in a tie game for very long as it will build confidence in their chances to win. “

Moe said the Badgers are confident in their chances to go back to State, but not overconfident or cocky.

“Our non-league games against tough opponents have prepared us well for this time of year just as it was intended to,” said Moe.
