A Bonenrs Ferry man was arrested for altering his prescription for the narcotic drug Lortab which is a felony.

Brandon Bigsby, 30,  on Sept. 29.,  allegedly gave a prescription to Safeway Pharmacy for 120 pain pills.  According to court records,  after receiving the prescription the pharmacist felt it was an excessive amount and called the prescribing doctor at Boundary Community Hospital.

The doctor, who treated Bigsby in the emergency room, told the pharmacist that he wrote the prescription for 20 pills.

The pharmacist called the Bonners Ferry Police and reported forgery.  According to court records, when Bigsby came to the pharmacy to pick up the medication, the pharmacist informed him that she could not fill it as it had been altered.

Bigsby admitted to police he and a friend discussed altering the prescription on the way to the pharmacy.  The friend told Bigsby that she had done it before without incident.  Bigsby said she added a 1 before the 20.   Bigsby told police he gave it to the pharmacist, according to court records.

Bigsby was arrested on $10,000 bond and is in Boundary County Jail.

Bigsby will be arraigned at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Boundary County Courthouse.
