Edith Williams Warren Phillips, 83
Former Bonners Ferry resident Edith Williams Warren Phillips, 83, went to her Heavenly home Thursday, Oct. 8, at Parthenon Health Care in Crestview, Fla., where she had lived for four years.
Edith was born July 26, 1926, to Lon and Nell Williams in Lawrence County, Ala.
Edith attended Northwest Bible College in Minot, N.D.
She ministered with the Church of God for more than 60 years in four states. She worked in Bonners Ferry from 1983 to about 1989.
Edith served on numerous boards and committees for both church and community in Bonners Ferry, including the North Idaho Community Action, Friends of Children Under Stress, Mental Health Association and American Cancer Society.
She also worked with the local high school principal to provide safe, on-site activities for graduating seniors.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Phillips; brother, Buford Williams; and sister, Ann Robbins.
Edith is survived by her children, the Rev. Bill Warren and his wife, Alice, of Cullman, Ala., Margie Thomas and her husband, Bobby, of Ardmore, Tenn., Nancy Griffin and her husband, Johnny, of Crestview, and Myra Albrecht and her husband, Bobby, of Decatur, Ala.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; stepson Larry Phillips and his wife, Barbara, of Hartselle, Ala.; sisters Lois Fowler, Bobbie Masters and her husband, Roland, and Shirley Beatty and her husband, James; brothers Ray Williams and his wife, Ann, and Butch Williams; and the father of her children, W. B. Warren of Decatur.
Funeral services were held Oct. 10 in the chapel of Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle, Ala. The Rev. Gene Rice of Cleveland, Tenn., officiated. Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle was in charge of arrangements.
