Badgers fall in volleyball openers

Bonners Ferry lost to Lakeland 25-17, 25-23, 25-20 and Timberlake 25-18, 25-16, 25-17 in the season opener for all three teams.

For Bonners Ferry, Casey Watt totaled seven kills, Miranda Stippich five, Mikki Erickson four. Markayle Acord had three blocks, Tana Schneider 12 assists, Erickson three aces.

For Bonners Ferry, Erickson had 10 kills, Watt three blocks, Schneider 22 assists, Olivia Langs seven digs, Stippich five aces.

Timberlake defeats Bonners Ferry 27-25, 12-25, 26-24, 22-25, 13-15 at Friday’s game.

This game did not count as a league game, the best  3 of 5, league team.

Once again the Badgers played relatively solid with trouble on the serving line.

Stippich served five aces,  Erickson ended with10 kills, Watt had three blocks, Schneider had 15 assists and Langs had five digs.

Bonners Ferry at Lewiston Tourney on Saturday.  Four teams in two different pools.

Bonners Ferry beat Grangeville, lost to Lewiston, and lost to Genesse. Matches were best 2 of 3.

Bonners Ferry and Grangeville 27-25, 23-25, 16-14.

At Grangeville Erickson totaled eight kills and three ace serves, Hallie Payne had four blocks and  Langs had 15 digs.

At Lewiston Erickson had three kills,  Schneider with five kills, Pearle Stoermer and Markayle Acord each had two blocks and Langs with 13 digs. 

Bonners Ferry at  Genessee 25-23, 15-25, 13-15.

Acord served two aces,  Stoermer had six kills,  Watt had three blocks,  Schneider with 12 assists and Langs with 20 digs.

Coach Janis Tucker was relatively pleased with her team’s performance this weekend, but was disappointed in the Badgers inconsistency on the serving line. 

“The Badgers have good chemistry and they are a coachable team,” said Tucker.

 Tucker expects to see continued improvement over the course of the season.
