Get involved in Friends of the Arts

| September 3, 2009 9:00 PM

Friends of the Arts in Bonners Ferry, serving all of Boundary County. has its 2009-2010 season ready to go.

As in the past years they are in need of volunteers to help with set-up of venues publicity and feeding of some performers. This gives you the chance to be up close and personal with many of the acts, besides supporting an organization dedicated to brining quality entertainment and performing experiences to Bonners Ferry and the surrounding community.

If you are interested in signing up, there will be an open meeting on Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. after the Farmers Market upstairs in the Visitors center.             Snacks will be served the board of Friends of the Arts will introduce themselves, discuss the season and have sign-up sheets ready.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to get involved with the arts in Boundary County and help prepare some exciting, professional performances.  Or just come to learn about the season and what Friends of the Arts has been doing in Bonners Ferry for the past seven years.

On a personal note, doing this is such a blast.  You get to know our auditorium and get backstage, you hear about all kinds of other art groups and what they are doing, you get to watch the faces of children at the Nutcracker or auditioning for the Missoula Children’s Theater, you get to talk with performers from all over the United States.

We will take volunteers from the high school and in fact encourage them to help for the experience.  Most of the performers do an outreach to the schools to encourage aspiring performers to pursue their dream.
