| September 17, 2009 9:00 PM

Daniel Peter Kropatch, 63, passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at his home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Our family suffered the loss of Dan, who entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Springs of The Living Water Free Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry.

After high school, Dan played minor league baseball and was on the way to the majors. He joined the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and for many years served as an air traffic controller in the Panama Canal Zone and at Minot AFB, N.D.

His favorite job was working with the students of Boundary County School District, both as a bus driver and as the announcer for sports games. Dans was well known as “the voice of the Badgers.”

He attended the Springs of Living Waters Free Methodist Church, where he served God and enjoyed the fellowship, love and support of his church family whom he held precious in his life.

Dan was also an active member of Inland Northwest Journey for Christ. His favorite scripture was Mark 8:34: "Then Jesus called the crowd to himself along with his disciples. He said to them, 'Those who want to follow me must deny himself, and pick up their crosses, and follow me.' ”We will all miss Dan dearly. Thank you to all who have comforted our family during this difficult time.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Juanita Kropatch, and his daughter, Angela.

Dan is survived by Angela's boys, Andrew and Terris; children Kimberly, Andrea and Benjamin; and grandchildren Samantha, Alina, Lexi, Kyla and Cierra; sister Mary Anne; brother-in-law Marty; nieces and nephews Andrea, Cindy, Kandy and Daniel; and great-nieces and nephews Ashley, Brittney, Frankie, Clayton, Shane, Aidan, Andrew and Joaquin, all of whom he adored and with whom he spent Christmas Holiday every year in California.

Dan is also survived by his church family, whom he loved and blessed with his service over the years. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to sign Dan’s book at  www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home handled arrangements.
