Richard Augustine Finch, 62

| September 17, 2009 9:00 PM

Richard Augustine Finch, 62, passed away Aug. 31, 2009, at his home in Bonners Ferry.

Services were held Sept.11 at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.

Dick was born on Nov. 28, 1946, in Ancon, Panama Canal Zone, to Herman Francis and Lillian May Seasley Finch.

Dick grew up in Sacramento, and attended college in San Francisco.

Dick was employed at Chrysler Corp., trucking firms, in management for a courier service, and California State Government, all in the San Francisco area. After moving to Bonners Ferry, he spent 14 years working for Rocky Mountain Academy and its related schools.

Dick fell in love with Bonners Ferry, Boundary County and the Pacific Northwest in 1993.  Meeting the people, he decided to make it permanent in 1994.

With occasional trips to British Columbia, the love affair grew until he knew every stream, mountain, road, street and highway and of course the view from his house.

Dick is lovingly remembered by his brother, his sole surviving family member, and his friends, many of whom are from Bonners Ferry.
