Man admits to robbery, sex with teenage girl

| September 24, 2009 9:00 PM

A Bonners Ferry man has admitted to helping rob a man at his Moyie Springs home on Jan. 7.

While out on bond, Edward Perez was then accused of having sex with a 13-year- old girl on April 2.  Perez also admitted to the charge of rape for the incident.

Both charges are felonies and Perez will be sentenced at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Boundary County Courthouse.

Perez helped Jesse Harris, 20, of Bonners Ferry rob Loren D. Whites at his home in Moyie Springs on Jan. 7.

According to Boundary County Sheriff deputies,  White was at home around 11 p.m.  when he heard a loud knocking at the front door.   Before White could answer the door, Perez and Harris broke the door frame, forcing their way into the home.

They threw a blanket over White’s head so he was not able to identify them, deputies said.  The men apparently threatened White by sticking a metal object in his back, which White thought was a gun.  A pipe  found in the house later may have been the object.
