Recycling

| September 24, 2009 9:00 PM

Starting Oct. 1, Boundary County Solid Waste Department will begin accepting No. 1 through No. 7 plastic containers for recycling.

Previously, only No. 1 and No. 2 plastics could be recycled.

Plastic items that can be recycled include milk jugs, water and soda bottles, cups, plates, plastic ware, clear food packaging and yogurt, margarine and household cleaner containers.

Anything plastic that is stamped with a No. 1 through No. 7 in a triangle, usually on the bottom of the item, can be recycled.

All containers must be rinsed out. Plastics do not need to be separated, and labels and lids may be left on containers.

For questions, call the landfill at 267-3812.
