Steven King Bender, 62
Steven King Bender, 62, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, Sept. 14, 2009.
Steve was born April 7, 1947, in Bonners Ferry to Paul and Anita King Bender.
Steve attended elementary school at Mt. Hall and Bonners Ferry High School, where he met and caught the attention of a fellow sophomore, Jeanine Hermann.
The couple married Feb. 4, 1966.
Steve worked for 33 years at the lumber mill in Bonners Ferry, beginning his employment with Pack River on the green chain, and finishing with Crown Pacific as the mill manager.
Steve was an active member of Bonners Ferry Fire Department, holding the rank of engineer.
Steve’s loves in life were simple; time spent with friends and family, time with his grandson, time on the river.
He was a truly beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Steve’s family included his wife, daughters Michelle Bulger and her husband, Patrick, and Stephanie Brown and her husband, Chip; grandson Jackson Bulger; brothers Dennis and his wife, Michiel, and Pat and his wife Nancy; mother-in-law Lorraine Hermann; sisters-in-law Susan Blalack and her husband, Arliss, and Lori Pupo; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
