Bonners Ferry wrestlers compete in Washington tournament

 BONNERS FERRY — Blaine Invernon, Benny Watt, Trevor Hampton and Brandon Schmitz traveled to Battleground, Wash., on Saturday and Sunday, to wrestle in the Tom Shaw NW Cadet/Junior Regional Championships. 

Wrestling amongst the best freestyle and greco roman wrestlers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and California, as well as representation from Alaska and Florida these boys battled for two days.

Invernon, wrestling at cadet 105, placed third in freestyle and third in greco roman. 

Watt, wrestling at junior 135, placed fourth in freestyle and fourth in greco roman.

Hamtpon, wrestling at junior 145, placed third in freestyle.

Schmitz also wrestled at junior 145. 

This is one of the toughest tournaments in the country and the boys wrestled very well.

Coaches are Conrad Garner, Eddy Invernon and Rex Koehler. The boys appreciated the use of Roland and Linda Hall’s vehicle for the trip.
