Timberlake wins Bonners Ferry tournament

BONNERS FERRY — Timberlake defeated Intermountain League rival Bonners Ferry 12-0 in the Bonners Ferry tournament championship game, finishing with a 3-0 record over the weekend.

Timberlake opened with a 9-2 win over Wallace on Friday and defeated Potlatch 6-3 behind a complete game by Tyler Shaffer on Saturday morning.

“We were pretty solid as a group this weekend,” Timberlake coach Bill Rider said. “Tyler threw great against Potlatch. They’re a pretty good 1A team, but we played pretty well as a team this weekend.”

Kenny Ridgeway scored five runs in the tournament for Timberlake (4-2), which hosts Sandpoint on Thursday.
