Attack on county's hard working employees not warranted

| April 8, 2010 9:00 PM

Kudos to Eleanor Druskell

After reading the article by Eleanor Druskell in The Herald (March 25).

“In this economic climate we need to hold the community together.”

I want the congratulate her for her expert article regarding Donna Capurso.

I do not know Donna Capurso or Eleanor Druskell, but have read Donna Capurso’s articles in the past and have heard about her mingling in local politics.

I’m a retired Boundary County employee and I take offense to how Donna Carpurso seems to feel about county employees and the way our county is run.

The county is fortunate to have great employees and great commissioners with their individual integrity and caring for the citizens in this county.

I believe if the county could go to 10-hour days, four days per week, it could extend a.m. and p.m. hours for the public to be able to take care of their needs at the courthouse without having to take time off work to do so. Another way, and I’m not sure if this has been discussed, is for the courthouse being open five days a week, 10 hours per day with half the employees having their 40-hour work week Monday through Thursday and the other half of the staff working Tuesday through Friday.  This could truly extend the open courthouse hours, if this is even possible to do.

Donna Carpurso, I agree with Ms. Druskell that you crossed the line attacking hard-working county employees.
