Bulldog girls win title at Sandpoint Quad meet

SANDPOINT — Melinda Van Dyk won the 100 hurdles and 100 meters, Maddie Suppiger won the high jump, Christina Johnson won the discus and Susan Kovalchuk won the pole vault to lead the Sandpoint girls to the team title at the Sandpoint Quad meet on Thursday.

Danny Pfeifer ran a personal best 2:06 to win the 800 meters, Anthony Gold blazed an 11.4 to edge teammate Cody Hecker in the 100, and Evan Rains clocked a 10:44 to win the 3,200, as the Bulldog boys finished in third place.

Bonners Ferry’s Colton Watt won the 300 hurdles, 100 hurdles and discus to lead the Badger boys to the team title, and Priest River’s Melissa Hopkins won the triple jump and long jump to lead the Spartan girls.

Sandpoint hosts the Tri-Meet on April 15.
