BONNERS FERRY — Bonners Ferry “Blaze” girls fast-pitch softball team will be bringing the heat to the competition in Spokane, Coeur d’ Alene and Sandpoint this summer.

BF Blaze, a team of ten girls ages 8 through 10 are up and coming competitive softball players.   Coaches Jed and Tomi Bateman are gearing up Blaze for summer games and tournaments.

Blaze is Bonners Ferry’s independent team and if anyone is interested in sponsoring the girls they are welcome to.  The coaches volunteer their time.

The girls have been  practicing at the fairgrounds and River Park after school.  They won their first game against Nine Mile Falls in Spokane last Saturday.

Nine Mile Falls will be visiting Bonners Ferry in May for a re-match. Many teams from other areas will be visiting Bonners Ferry over the summer for home games.

Come and watch these girls throw some fire and show off their skills.  Home games will be announced in the Bonners Ferry Herald..
