Nada Evelyn Fredericksen

Long time Bonners Ferry resident Nada Evelyn Fredericksen died January 14, 2010 in Renton, Wash.

Services will be held on April 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the United Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, with interment in the Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Born April 11, 1923, in Smith Center, Kan., she was the daughter of Ralph and Myrtle Lannigan. She and her family moved to Boundary County in 1931.

She attended Sheridan School and then Bonners Ferry High School, graduating in 1941. In June of that year, she married Orval E. Fredericksen. In 1943 they purchased a home on the south hill and there they lived for 63 years. Her husband was a long time postmaster of the Bonners Ferry Post Office, retiring in 1976.

She was the mother of four children: Gary of San Dimas, Calif., Karen Corbeil of Porthill, Mark of Des Moines, Wash., and Patti Colt of Arlington, Texas.

She was active in the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was a passionate gardener and bird watcher.

Her husband preceded her in death in 2005.

She is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Donna Robinson formerly of Naples, now of Spokane, Wash., and two brothers, Darrell Lannigan of Lewiston and Larry Lannigan of Caldwell, Idaho.
