Boundary County Does Have Talent!

| April 29, 2010 9:00 PM

Boundary County showed off some great talent in the April 17 show presented by Caring People for Animals at Becker Auditorium.

With her lovely voice and great stage presence, Rebecca Huseby won first place in the adult category. Second in that category was Amber Reed, another audience favorite. Amber also won the People’s Choice award, determined by judges in the audience. Kelly Bart won the third-place award with his exciting martial arts display, and Bud Litterell with accompanist Byan Duty were named as fourth-place winners.

Lauren Palmer’s charming and spirited Broadway song earned the first-place award in the young people category. Gabriel Feller sang and accompanied himself at the piano, winning second place. Playing a haunting song she composed for Native American flute, Hannah Kelso was named third-place winner. Fourth-place winners were vocalists Talienna and Maneesha Darrow.

In spite of some technical problems with microphones, participants performed well and the audience was patient and appreciative. Trophies, ribbons, and cash awards, all sponsored by Bonners Ferry businesses, were presented to the first through fourth places in both adult and young people categories. The judges assure the community that judging was done solely on the basis of talent. Difficulties caused by microphones and speakers were overlooked.

CPA appreciates JoJoBaker for acting as Master of Ceremonies and for keeping the audience entertained between acts when technical glitches slowed the show.
