Safeway says it will hang flag

BONNERS FERRY — Driving by Safeway people have noticed something different other than the new signs.

It is the missing,  the familiar,  welcoming sight of the American, Idaho and Canadian flags.

Safeway manager Brett Brown assures the community that an American Flag will be going up and he estimates this will take place on or before July 31.

According to Brown Safeway (corporate) has not come to a decision if the Canadian and Idaho flags will stand strong with the American flag, but he confirmed that there will be an American Flag.

“We took it down for the construction as we didn’t want to damage anything,” Brown said.

Safeway is not sure if they are going to put it on top of the building where it was before or if they are going to have a flag pole set for it, said Brown.  He anticipates that a new pole will be installed.
