A four-person scramble golf tournament, sponsored by Boundary Abstract and Mountain West Bank, will take place with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 at Mirror Lake Golf Course.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Boundary Volunteer Ambulance, an event expected to take place annually.

“I am very excited about hosting this event as the ambulance is always there for every sporting event in our county, and they give so much of their time to this community,” said Becky Calderone of Boundary Abstract.

“After being involved with the Selkirk Saddle Club, I realized more of the importance and value of the crew. Without them, we couldn't conduct our events. Last year, I spoke with member Christine Peterson, and asked her what was given to the ambulance association in exchange for their time and services at each of these events they're requested and so needed at, she said it would be nice to get a donation, but often times that is not the case.”

In addition to 18 holes of golf, the event will feature a silent auction and raffles, baked goods, gift baskets and some great prizes for the winners, all donated by local individuals and merchants in support of the ambulance association.

Mirror Lake has a limited number of golf carts available and these can be reserved by calling (208) 267-5314, and participants are invited to bring their own carts.

The cost is $50 per golfer, or $200 per team, which includes a post-match hamburger barbecue with all the fixings. Registration forms are available at Mountain West Bank, Boundary Abstract, the county courthouse and Mirror Lake Golf Course. The deadline for pre-registration is Saturday, Aug. 21.

Those who'd like to contribute to the benefit or who just want to find out more can call Becky at (208) 267-3129 or Patti Branson at Mountain West Bank, (208) 267-5313.
