Work to begin Monday on Alderson

A major project to replace water and sewer lines, add a sidewalk and to resurface Alderson Lane is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 16, and should last about a month.

According to Bonners Ferry City Engineer Steve Boorman, Alderson Lane, from U.S. 95 to its junction with Paradise Valley Road. A detour for automobile traffic will be established on Garden Court and Garden Lane, but those who can use alternate routes away from the area are encouraged to do so to reduce congestion and help speed the project.

Boorman said they'd hoped to have the project, made possible by stimulus funding, complete before the first day of School Sept. 7, but he said it appears now that they will likely miss that goal by at least a few days.
