Lakeland bests girls in 0-3 soccer match

The Bonners Ferry High School girls soccer team opener at Lakeland saw a talented and physical Lakeland team defeat the Lady Badgers 3 to 0.

Lakeland opened the score at 2 1/2 minutes.  Forty minutes later Darby Murray placed a scrambled shot into the net for the Hawks.

The final Lakeland score came with 15 seconds left in the final second half.

The Lady Badgers, knowing the size and strength of the Hawks played a tight and tough defense.

Outstanding plays by Lady Badgers Sarah Schuman, Sydney Hubbard, Samantha Robertson and Hailey Pruitt-Keeper.

Hailey knocked down, tipped, smothered and caught 15 saves in the 80 minute early evening game.

Vast improvements in the last seven days by players Anika Blackmore, Jocelyn Palacios and Mariah Harris was shown through out the contest.

The Lady Badgers were missing several potential players due to injuries and meeting the minimum practice requirements.  Additional players still have time to join the Lady Badger team.
