Friday night dozens of children and their parents braved the snow and cold to spend a moment with Santa at Georgia Mae Plaza.

An annual Christmas tradition in Bonners Ferry brings Santa who is escorted by the Bonners Ferry Fire Department and Chief Pat Warkentin to downtown.

Cheers and squeals coming from the children sent a warm welcome on a cold evening to Santa.

With Christmas music playing in the background, kids balloons in hand, lined up from Georgia Mae gazebo to past Pace Kerby to tell Santa what they want for Christmas this year.

Mrs. Claus and Santa’s helpers handed out treats to all children who came out to visit Santa.

Kids who still want to visit Santa can at the free showings of Toy Story 3, at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Rex Theater. Santa will be handing out free stockings to all children 12 and under.
