Badgers drop game to Sandpoint

SANDPOINT — Cole Fuhrman poured in a game-high 23 points, from both inside and out, leading Sandpoint to a 56-37 win over Bonners Ferry in nonleague boys basketball action Monday night at Les Rogers Court.

Blaine Shultz added eight points, Evan Rains six and Brandon Hawkins nine rebounds for the Bulldogs (2-0), who continue to gel with a bunch of new faces.

“In the second quarter we got a little stagnant,” said Bulldogs coach Tyler Haynes. “We came out in the second half and screened, moved away from the ball and pushed the lead up to 20.”

Senior shooting guard Aaron Moe scored nine to lead the Badgers, Andre Zarate added seven and Mat Evans six.

Sandpoint is at the Pendleton Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
