Bonners Ferry High School wrestling

Blaine Invernon and David Willems won championships during the Bonners Ferry Invitational to lead the Badger wrestlers to an overall third-place finish.

Invernon decisioned Erick Midence of Wallace 15-3 to win the 103-pound class. Willems defeated Geoff Boncz of Priest River in a fall in 3:28 for the 215-weight class.

Priest River won the tournament, scoring 198 points. Timberlake followed with 179, Bonners Ferry 171.5, Kellogg 170.5, Wallace 115, St. Maries 101.5, Orofino 97.5, Coeur d’Alene 78 and Kootenai 41.5.

Tournament consolation winners for Bonners Ferry were Trevor Hampton (140) who defeated Jake Graham from Coeur d’Alene and Justin Spease (189), who defeated Jesse Faler of Orofino in a fall in 1:58. Joe Neumeyer (160) of Bonners Ferry took sixth, losing to Todd Kobielusz of Orofino.

Individual Badger place winners were 103 Invernon first, 125 Reid Boorman second, 135 Ben Watt second, 140 Hampton third, 145 Isaiah Grey second, 160 Neumeyer sixth, 171 Zach Heigel second, 189 Spease third, 215 Willems first.
