City remodeling council chambers

| February 11, 2010 8:00 PM

Bonners Ferry City Council agreed to do a $1,985 remodeling of council chambers to accommodate more people at its meetings.

Council made the decision during a recent meeting, when it was standing-room only.

City administrator Stephen Boorman said Bonneville Power Administration will cover 70 percent of the $800 electrical contract for the project. City employees will do the remodeling to save money.

The city will use $401 from its general fund — that’s the cost to taxpayers — to do the project.

“It would be nice to have extra room, “ said councilwoman Connie Wells. “The cost is really not that big. I think it is well worth the investment.”
