Idaho Log Finishers has expanded its business to include Rugged Mountain Furniture.

Owners Mark and Robin Unruh and their son and daughter-in-law, Tyler and Adrianna Unruh, opened the business at 64891 Highway 2 across from Boundary County Airport. They are leasing a new 60- by 45-foot building owned by Suellen Bicknel.

Mark and Tyler Unruh make rustic, handcrafted furniture and vintage inspired accessories for the home.  They also do custom orders. They have one other furniture-maker with items on consignment.

The Unruhs’ primary business is Idaho Log Finishers. They finish, chink and stain log homes. Mark and Tyler Unruh make furniture on the side.

“It’s to the point where we can start selling some,” Tyler Unruh said.

In addition to the retail store, the family also operates a pre-staining business from the Highway 2 location.

They pre-stain wood, pre-painted and concrete board siding as well as pre-finished trim. The pre-staining and log home finishing business had been run from their home. The entire operation has been moved to the Highway 2 location, where they also plan to sell products for maintaining log homes.

The store is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be reached at 267-1252.
