Eleanor Marguerite Erickson, 69
Eleanor Marguerite Erickson, 69, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at the Hospice House in Spokane, Wash.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry.
Eleanor was born March 18, 1940, in Bonners Ferry to Melvin and Harriet Duff Erickson.
Eleanor was raised in Bonners Ferry and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1958.
She worked at Fashion Cleaners.
Eleanor then attended Kinman Business College after which she worked for the telephone company in San Francisco and Seattle.
In the mid-1960s, she went to work for Eastern Airlines in ticket and reservations in Seattle, later transferring to Atlanta and then to Salt Lake City before retiring.
Eleanor returned to Bonners Ferry, where she lived with and cared for her mother. After the death of her mother, Eleanor took Hospice training and worked in home health care.
Throughout her life she enjoyed her pets, painting, drawing, writing short stories and poetry, speaking French and playing her violin with the Idaho Old Time Fiddles. She especially enjoyed playing her violin at Boundary County Restorium.
Eleanor was an avid reader and enjoyed taking computer and writing classes at North Idaho College.
Her vivacious personality and zest for life will definitely leave a void in our lives.
Survivors include sister Ingrid Spears and husband, Bill, of Cheney, Wash., and their children Shelli Spears, Dianna Martinsen, Jennifer Fister, Russell Spears and Wesley Spears; sister Joanne Erickson of Bonners Ferry and her children Kristine Thompson, Cindy Agueros, Gina Branscome, Jeff Thompson and Marty Thompson; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and brother Roger Erickson.
