James “Jim” Allan Huff, 75, passed away at his Endicott, Wash., home Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 18 at Endicott Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott.

Jim was born Aug. 21, 1934, in Edgemont, S.D., to James Walter and Doris Coates Huff. The family moved to Bonners Ferry when Jim was 6 months old.

He graduated from Bonners Ferry High School and went to the University of Idaho for a year before graduating as a pharmacist from Idaho State University in Pocatello.

Jim worked briefly in Lewiston before finding an opening at the drug store in Endicott.

Jim met Sharon Hose while at a dance in Winona; the couple married April 25, 1959.

Shortly after they married, Jim and Sharon bought Endicott Drug, which they operated for 40 years.

Jim retired in 1997 and the pharmacy closed.

He was an avid gardener and loved fishing. Jim also liked to play cards and golfed occasionally.

In their younger years, Jim and Sharon bowled on leagues in Colfax, Wash., and were members of the Jaycees.

Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, St. John Golf and Country Club, Endicott Gun Club and Washington State Pharmacy Association. He was also a board member for the St. John/Endicott Scholarship Foundation.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years at their Endicott home; children James Michael “Mike” and his wife, Kathy, of Durham, N.C., Robert “Bob” and wife, Julie, of Antioch, Calif., and Sheryl Kyllo and her husband, Terry, of Anacortes, Wash.; five grandchildren; sisters Evelyn Dinning of Bonners Ferry and Margie Yongue of Blanchard; and a brother, Harold Huff of Tekoa, Wash.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a baby boy, Richard Allan.

The family suggests memorials be made to St. John/Endicott Schools Scholarship Foundation or Trinity Lutheran Church.
