Gail Borden Dunn, 84

Gail Borden Dunn, 84, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene after a short illness.

Gail was born Oct. 19, 1925, in Bonners Ferry to Charles and Lora Smith Dunn.

Gail attended school in Bonners Ferry and lived there until he joined the Army. He was a World War II veteran.

Gail married Frances Snodgrass of Bonners Ferry on Oct.18, 1949. They moved to Kellogg in 1950, where Gail was a logger and a miner.

Gail enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, picking huckleberries, growing tomatoes and visiting with neighbors.

He was a member of the DAV and Industrial Union.

Gail is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances, at the family home in Pinehurst; daughters Dianna Mast of Kingston and Wanda Cowles (Mark) of Pinehurst; sons Jack Dunn (Stacy) of Minneapolis and Tom Dunn (Julie) of Pinehurst; grandchildren Richard Mast, Steven Mast, Heather Stott, Damien Cowles, Tom Dunn, Scott Dunn, Cory Dunn and Bryan Forshee; great-grandchildren Gaelen Mast, Brandon Stott, Paige Stott, Anthony Cowles, Katie Cowles, Ashley Dunn, Tristin Dunn, Olivia Dunn and Macy Jo Dunn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gail was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and son-in-law.

No service will be held at his request.
