Nada Evelyn Frederickson, 96

Longtime Bonners Ferry resident Nada Evelyn Fredericksen, 86, died January 14, 2010, in Renton, Wash.

Born April 11, 1923, in Smith Center, Kansas, Nada was the daughter of Ralph and Myrtle Lannigan.

Nada and her family moved to Boundary County in 1931. She attended Sheridan School and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1941.

In June 1941, Nada married Orval E. Fredericksen. In 1943 they purchased a home on the South Hill, where they lived for 63 years. Nada’s husband was a longtime postmaster in Bonners Ferry, retiring in 1976.

She was active in the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Nada was a passionate gardener and bird watcher.

Her husband preceded her in death in 2005.

She is survived by children Gary of San Dimas, Calif., Karen Corbeil of Porthill, Mark of Des Moines, Wash., and Patti Colt of Arlington, Texas; eight grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a sister, Donna Robinson, formerly of Naples and now of Spokane, Wash.; and brothers Darrell Lannigan of Lewiston and Larry Lannigan of Caldwell.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at the United Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry. Nada will be buried in Grandview Cemetery.
