Anna Bredy

Anna Bredy passed away peacefully with her daughter, Joyce, by her side on June 22, 2010, at the Boundary Community Nursing Home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.  

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with officiating  by Pastor Dean Peterson and Larry Nelson. Organist Rae Anderson performed the music. 

She was laid to rest in the Grandview Cemetery, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

 Anna was born in Melville, Saskatchewan, Canada, on Feb. 23, 1914.  She lived most of her life growing up in Laporte, Saskatchewan, where she met and married Edwin Bredy in 1932. They had two children, Joyce and Allan.

 Anna had an adventurous life with her husband, Edwin who was a cat operator working summers in Saskatchewan, and winters in Yaak, British Columbia, from 1942 to 1947. 

From there they moved to different places in British Columbia, Stewart, Cranbrook, Oliver, Abbotsford, Aldergove, and eventually they moved to Bellingham, Wash., in 1956 with son, Allan, where they became American ctizens in1962.

 Anna loved this kind of life. In British Columbia, she worked in packing houses,fruit sheds and laundry. Then in Bellingham she loved keeping other people’s homes clean and tidy. Anna was very adapt with hammer and saw. She started renovating older homes and selling them for a profit.

 Anna was a great cook, loved cooking for family and friends, She also loved gardening, especially flowers. Her hobby was crossword puzzles.  Anna was very devoted to her church, singing in the choir, working at quilting, altar guild and all other church activities.

They moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, in 1991.

 Anna was predeceased by her parents, Henrietta Wagner and Henry Dietrich; husband Edwin, in 1994; son, Allan in 2003; four brothers and one sister and three great great-grandchildren Donna-Jean, Justin and Dayna.

 She is survived by daughter Joyce Aubert and husband Ron in Salmon Arm, BC, sister Helen, nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 Special thanks to Dr. Lucero and all the staff at Boundary Community Nursing Home for the special care and love they gave Anna for the last 9 years.
