Bonners Ferry FFA competes in state competition

On  June 8 the Bonners Ferry FFA Chapter of Future Farmers of America went to Moscow to compete in the annual State Career Development Events held at the University of Idaho.

During this time Bonners Ferry FFA members competed in dairy cattle judging, livestock evaluation, agronomy, meats technology, forestry and dairy food products competitions.

The dairy cattle judging team included Mackenzie Nash, Mariah Munson and Leah Peycke. The livestock evaluation team included Andria Hedrick, Alicia Hannahs, Mackenzie Nash and Mariah Munson.

 Participating in the forestry and meats technology CDEs were Alicia Hannahs, Ayla Neumeyer, Carly Haworth and Scott Dugger. Participants in Dairy food products competition were Andria Hedrick, Ayla Neumeyer, Leah Peycke and Scott Dugger.

The agronomy team which placed eighth in the state consisted of Andria Hedrick, Alicia Hannahs, Ayla Neumeyer and Carly Haworth.

Also while in Moscow, Bonners Ferry FFA members participated in a workshop put on by Seth Pratt, the 2009-2010 Idaho Association FFA president.

Pratt also is the Idaho Association 2010 national officer candidate. He will compete for a national FFA office at the National FFA Convention in October.

FFA members are now preparing for fair in August and starting their supervised agriculture experiences.
