Esther Violet Parker, 92

Esther Violet Parker, 92, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, in Sandpoint, Idaho.  Private services have been held.

Esther was born on May 26, 1918 in Hot Springs, Mont., to Dessie and Chester Gephart. She graduated from high school in Olympia, Wash., in 1938. 

She married Ray Norman and moved to Port Angeles, Wash., in 1952.  They raised four children on their farm at Dry Creek. She worked as an LPN at Olympic Memorial Hospital for 25 years. 

She was active in the Gem and Mineral Society with her second husband Oliver Loren Parker. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, active in the Senior Center, and had many many friends. She was a fantastic gardener, and loved to picnic at Ediz Hook and watch the seagulls. She moved to Sandpoint in 2005 to be closer to her family.

She is survived by her children Wanda (Fred) Gifford of Deming, N.M., Donna Marie McCandless of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Jerry Norman (and Martina Vonda) of Anchorage, Alaska and Shannon (Teresa) Norman of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Oliver Parker, sister Myrtle Taylor and grandson Eddie Olmstead.
