Memorial Day events were memorable

American Legion Boundary Post No. 55

Boundary County citizens have done it once again. Thanks to the efforts of so many, this year’s Memorial Day events were an absolute delight.

Although the steady drizzle should have dampened spirits, hundreds of people defied the weather and tuned out to participate in the parade.

How awesome to see the genuine respect shown to local veterans, from the youngest child waving an American flag to the reception given vets from the crowd, this was truly a memorable day. In fact, one of the county’s oldest vets was literally moved to tears at the honor shown him as he was driven along the parade route.

American Legion Boundary Post No. 55 would like to let every individual and organization who helped to make this year’s parade and Memorial Service a huge success how much they are appreciated. Without your assistance every year, these events could not happen.

We are grateful to every person who participated and to all those who attended. How wonderful to live in a community which truly honors its veterans.
