Second half property taxes due by June 21, 2010.

| June 17, 2010 9:00 PM

Deadline to pay the second half of 2009 taxes without penalty is Monday, June 21.

Normal property tax deadline is June 20, but this year that day falls on a Sunday, said Boundary County Treasurer. Jenny Fessler.

Reminders were sent in May for the second half of 2009 taxes and any portion of unpaid delinquencies.

After Monday, June 21, a two percent late charge and interest of one per cent per month will be added, retroactive back to January 1, 2010 on the second half.

The treasurer’s office is located in the Boundary County Courthouse at 6452 Kootenai Street in downtown Bonners Ferry. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5p.m. Monday through Friday.

Payments that are mailed to the treasurer’s office must be postmarked by June 21, to avoid penalty.

Mail payments to Boundary County Tax Collector,  P.O. Box 218, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805.

Taxes may also be paid by telephone with a credit card through Official Payments Corporation. To pay by telephone, call 1-877-203-6083.

You will be asked to enter your bill number, a daytime phone number, year of tax bill you are paying, amount you are paying, and your credit card information. There is convenience fee of 2.75 percent for this service.
