• Brenda Poulton has been named the Boundary County Artist Association’s Artist of the Month.
• Bonners Ferry wrapped up its regular wrestling season by sending seven wrestlers to the state championships.
• Coach Dick Hollenbeck has been coaching or refereeing basketball since 1964, before all of the athletes and even some of the referees and coaches have been alive.
• Casey Clark at Whitworth College, formerly from Bonners Ferry High School competed in a conference triple jump on March 4, against Lewis and Clark College.

• Reports on trips to California by Jack Hern and Alan Gillis were the main items on the agenda of the Bonners Ferry chamber of commerce meeting Monday in Don’s Cafe.
• Austin Irwin, a senior in Bonners Ferry High School, was declared second place winner in the First District American Legion Oratorical contest held in Coeur d’ Alene Tuesday.
• Don Hoagland was elected president of the Boundary County Cattlemen’s association at their annual meeting held last Friday.
• The annual fund drive of the American Red Cross in Boundary County was kicked off this week with Mrs. Mary McNearney acting as chairman.
• The Intermediate Youth fellowship group of the First Methodist Church recently elected officers with Linda Portrey being named president.
