Ronald Lee Cox, 66
Ronald Lee Cox, 66, of Sagle, Idaho, died March 6, 2010, at his home surrounded by family.
Ron was born Sept. 22, 1943, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Ode and Iva Cox. Ron was a student at Sandpoint High in the class of 1961. He studied auto body repair at Spokane Community Trade School in 1961, and worked as an auto body specialist for nine years.
He married Patricia Oslund in 1963. They spent 29 years living in Mesa and Tucson, Ariz., where Ron and Pat raised four children. Ron worked as an auto insurance estimator for State Farm for 33 years.
Ron married Elizabeth Wilson in 1993 and returned to his home state of Idaho, spending nine years in Lewiston before retiring to Sandpoint in 2003, where he has enjoyed camping, fishing, playing pinochle, watching wildlife in his front yard and spending time with family and friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Liz Cox; his children, Paul Cox of Phoenix, Ariz., Laura (Ryan) Booton and her children, Josh and Amy Brende, of Lincoln, Neb., Lisa Stewart and her children, Kara and Tim, of Muncie, Ind., Doug (Sarah) Cox and his son, Graham, of New York, N.Y., and Shahna (Ted) Reed and their children, Taylor and Ryan, of Sagle; and his siblings Wayne (Sherry) Cox of Lewiston, Idaho, Ellen (Jerry) Yager of Spokane, Wash., Edna Wilhelm of Sandpoint, and Edie (Chuck) LaPrath of Tekoa, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ode and Iva Cox; his first wife, Pat Cox; and granddaughter, Amber Stewart.
Viewing hours will be Tuesday, March 9,from 3 to 6 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Home in Sandpoint. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at the LDS (Mormon) Church at 331 Westmond Rd in Cocolalla, Idaho, with a graveside gathering at 2:30 p.m. at Moravia Cemetery south of Bonners Ferry.
