| March 18, 2010 9:00 PM

BONNERS FERRY — Woods Law Office, LLC is opening on Monday, March 22, at 6418 Kootenai St. in downtown Bonners Ferry.

Woods practice will focus on estate planning, business and tax law.

With a law degree from Duke University, Woods has practiced law for 15 years.  He worked for two large law firms in Kansas City, Mo., before opening his solo law practice in Kansas.

Brian W. Woods moved to Bonners Ferry from Kansas nearly two years ago with his wife of 20 years, Michelle, and their children Cameron, 14,  Savannah, 13, and Ciera, 11.

“I am excited to announce the formal opening of a downtown Bonners Ferry office,” said  Woods. “I am excited to be a part of this community and look forward to serving the people of Boundary County for many years to come.”

Woods is licensed to practice law  in Idaho, Kansas and Missouri where he is also a member of each states bar association.

Woods also graduated magna cum laude in accounting and business administration and worked as a Certified Public Accountant for two years after graduating college.  After that, he attended Duke where he graduated from law school with high honors.

Woods and his family chose Bonners Ferry because they love the outdoors. They enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing and mountain biking.   Although, his family holds a special place for Kansas, they were looking for a smaller community to raise their children, work and retire.

“It has been a smooth transition for us,” said  Woods.

“We have easily adjusted to living in this part of the world.  In addition to the scenery and many outdoor recreational opportunities, we have really felt welcome by the people here. Boundary County is a great community with lots of friendly, nice people and we are proud to call Bonners Ferry home.
