Deborah “Debbie” Ann Musial, 55, passed away on March 12, 2010, at the Boundary Community Hospital in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

A Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home in Bonners Ferry with a Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday, March 19, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bonners Ferry with private burial in the Grandview Cemetery.

Debbie was born in Detroit, Mich., to William and Josephine Musial. Debbie spent most of her childhood in California, but also lived in Nevada and Utah for a short period of time.

Debbie's mother died when she was 2 and she had a very close bond with her father. Debbie attended school in California and after graduation went to Rio Hondo College, Cal State L.A., and a trade school receiving two degrees and a journeyman's card for fire sprinkler installation.

Debbie enjoyed fishing, especially with her son, Jozef. When asked to describe a perfect summer day she said, “Sweet, light breeze, sun shining, water slapping the sides of your boat, just floating around the lake.” She also enjoyed woodworking and working with her hands.

Debbie's dogs brought her so much joy. They were all family members. She loved each and every one of them with all of her heart.

Most of all Debbie loved being with Jozef, being by his side, to celebrate with him his successes and to be there for him in his loses, not only in his sports, but in life's ups and downs.

Debbie lived for her son. She wrote to him, “…you have given me the best days of my life, before I had you my life really had no meaning, I went to work and came home…then you came along. I knew I had a baby and you answered my prayers…you are the light of my life and I want you to remember that…I love you so much and you are so special…”

In recent years, Debbie was most visible in the community through the Booster Club. She was “The BBQ Lady.”

Debbie loved to support the kids and the school. She was a friend everyone, even if you had never met her. She truly enjoyed herself and all of the work she did, but most of all she loved all of the people she touched and got to gab with.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Josephine Musial, her brother, William (Billy) Musial, and her son, Jozef William Michael Musial.

Debbie is survived by her brother James (Jimmy) Musial and his wife, Judy of Naples, Idaho, her sister, Karen Stegeman of Melbourne, Ark., her niece, Shannon Johnson and Mercedes Musial, her nephews, Cole Johnson, Shawn Musial and his daughter Melissa Musial, her dogs Rufus, Rosie, and Scooter, and her extended family of friends.

Debbie was a tremendously giving and genuine person. What you saw was what you got. She loved and lived like the quotes she loved so much, “Live everyday as it is your last,” and “Love one another.”

Debbie touched this community that took her and Jozef in as family. She loved to give of her time by volunteering to support the kids and to give back. The Booster Club BBQ’s will never be the same.

Thank you to everyone who supported and loved Debbie and Jozef. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers and share the stories you have. If you knew Debbie we know you have at least one. In the spirit of Debbie, “Never take life too seriously, you will never get out alive.”
