Ron Fredrick La Fountain

| March 18, 2010 9:00 PM

Ron Fredrick  La Fountain passed away on Sunday, February 14, in Butte, Mont.

Preceding him in death just three days before was his much loved wife Bev. One could not be without the other; they will forever both be sadly missed.

Ron was born in Bonners Ferry on September 17, 1951, to Ned and Betty La Fountain.

His childhood was surrounded by the mountains, streams and lakes.  Family members were his playmates, his best friends and his partner in mischief, all taking place on his beloved grandparent’s home, Fred and Bessi Meddock on the Northside.

In Bonners Ferry he will always be Ronnie, with the thought  what do we do next; or for the thrill of it and always asking if he could ride on the handlebars of his sister Carol’s bike.

Ron served our country with pride and honor from 1971 to 1973 in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of E-3.

His career varied from a miner, groundskeeper, telemarketer and his favorite, a pool player.

Ron is survived by his daughter Morgan, son Anthony and granddaughter Hailey.

Ron also leaves behind his beloved aunts Bonnie Meddock Nieman of Sandpoint and Judy Meddock Everhart of Bonners Ferry.

His uncles Dan Meddock of McMinville, Ore., Rick Meddock of Newman Lake, Wash., and Gary Meddock of Bonners Ferry. They were his rugrats in arms while growing up.

All of Uncle Ron’s nieces and nephews will sorely miss his talented creative drawings, stories and especially him.

A memorial service is being planned for June on the place he called “home”, grandma and grandpa’s place.
