BONNERS FERRY — Life has come back to the Conoco building.

Life that is Well Life Pharmacy.

Well Life owner Jeff Foster is gearing up for the move to the building he has leased on South Main Street. The new location is under renovation to suit a pharmacy and small gift shop.

The pharmacy has been located inside Boundary Trading Co. since December 996. It will move to make way for Safeway’s move into the BTC building.

Typically, Safeway operates its own pharmacies.

“Our plan is to move over a weekend so the pharmacy can continue operating during regular business hours,” Foster said.

The Bonners Ferry pharmacy is the first of three pharmacy’s Foster owns.   Well Life Pharmacy has two more locations one in Post Falls and one in West Spokane. They have been in service for three years and both are inside Trading Co. stores.

He owned a fourth pharmacy in Ponderay, but that business recently closed.

Foster said the move is a work in progress and although a firm date has not been set, he hopes to open in early to mid-April.

Scott Pierson of Balance Builders in Bonners Ferry is the general contractor for the remodel.

“It is going good (the remodel)  is going to be a boutique kind of pharmacy,” said Pierson. “An interior designer is working with Jeff making it colorful.”  In the future a possible sandwich shop could be added, but something that will work well with the pharmacy.”

Foster said there will be no lapse in service and expects a smooth transition. The staff will be helping with the move and will stay in place at the new location.

The pharmacy will have a drive-up window and add vitamin supplements and a gift shop.

Pharmacy hours remain 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
