Mark Jeffrey Marcy, 55

Mark Jeffrey Marcy, 55, passed away on April 22, 2010 at his home near Bonners Ferry, Idaho. 

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 11 am in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Mark was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Wesley and Joy Marcy. He lived the majority of his life in Boundary County, attending grade school here and graduating from Bonners Ferry High School in 1973. He was active in 4-H and FFA.

Following high school, Mark worked a variety of jobs, primarily in the agriculture and timber industries.

Employers included Elmer Smith, Bob Myers, Bonners Ferry Lumber Company, Gene Swett, Don Grove and Beloit Mendenhall and Don Amoth. He worked construction at Hanford, Wash., for a period of time and co-owned Marcy's Radiator Repair Shop with his brother Neal.

Mark also worked for a time in Columbus, N.D., in the gas and oil fields. He later owned a logging truck under the business name of M-D Contracting. He spent the majority of his life as a truck driver.

He worked recently for Daniel Eich operating equipment to remove brush under utility lines.

He married Carol Cunnington on Feb 6, 1998. They were later divorced and he married Diane Fisher Feb. 3, 2009.

Mark is survived by his wife Diane, currently in Pocatello, Idaho, and her daughters Kendra and Lila Fisher of Bonners Ferry. Also surviving are his mother, Joy Marcy, of Bonners Ferry; brother Kenneth Marcy of Moscow, Idaho; brother Neal and sister-in-law Bobbie Marcy of Sagle, Idaho, and sister Shirley Marcy of Bonners Ferry.

Other survivors include his niece Melissa Marcy and step-nephew Andy Funderburg of Mondovi, Wis. Additionally he is survived by step-children Jamie (Toby) Schnuerle and Jaeger and Jaeda; Chris (Kali) Copley and Chloe, Slater, Carver and Cruz; Jeremy Copley and Kaden and Kyle; and Jennifer Riekena (Bill Elliston) and Rylee Riekena. Mark is also survived by Merrill and Betty Marcy of Moravia, Idaho; Donald Marcy, Bayview, Idaho; Pauli Marcy, Sandpoint, Idaho; and other aunts, uncles and cousins in both Idaho and Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Marcy; uncles Gordon and Ronald Marcy, aunt Janet Marcy; grandparents Leon H. and Clara Marcy and Bill and Christine Jeffries.
