NIC GED graduation ceremonies to be held across North Idaho

| May 6, 2010 9:00 PM

For the second consecutive year, North Idaho College General Education Development (GED) administrators will hold graduation celebrations for its GED students throughout the five northern counties of Idaho.

“Last year, holding the graduation ceremonies in each region was a wonderful way of bringing the celebration directly to where these students’ accomplishments took place,” said NIC Adult Basic Education/GED Director Rex Fairfield. “We’re happy to be able to do that again!”

The 2009-2010 GED graduation ceremony for graduates from Boundary County will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 5 in the Bonners Ferry Trinity Lutheran Church. Other ceremonies will be held May 3 in Ponderay, May 4 in Coeur d’Alene and May 6 in Kellogg.

In 2009, a total of 4,113 students successfully completed their GED in the state of Idaho, 592 of which utilized the NIC Adult Basic Education/GED centers in Coeur d’Alene, Bonners Ferry, Ponderay, Priest River, Kellogg and St. Maries.

The ceremony is open to all ABE/GED participants, families, friends and community members. Refreshments will be provided and caps and gowns will be available for graduates for pictures.
