Emma Grace Dirks, 83

Emma Grace Dirks, 83, Montezuma, Kan., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at Bethel Home in Montezuma. 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at 2:30  p.m. in Woodland Mennonite Church in Bonners Ferry, ID with interment in the Mountain View Mennonite Cemetery.

The daughter of Bernhard and Helen (Fleming) Friesen, she was born Dec. 31, 1926, at Lehigh, Kan.

She and Harold Keith Dirks were married Sept. 29, 1946, at Winton, Calif.

She was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Keith Dirks, Montezuma, Kan.; four sons, Jay Dean and Janice of Potlatch, Idaho, Leslie and Betty, also of Potlatch, Leo and Mariam of Brazil, Fred and Denise of Iroquois, S.D.; three daughters, Bonnie and Eldon Penner of Brazil, Greta of Montezuma, Shirley and Paul Koepl of Viola, Idaho; a brother, Herb and Nora Friesen, Aberdeen, MS; three sisters, Clara Koehn, Livingston, Calif., Bernettie and Abe Loewen, Geiger, Ala., Mabel and Jim Cryan, Reno, Nev.; 22 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Sharon Dirks, a sister, Leah Hiebert and two great-grandchildren.
