Photographs reveal seven years of war
As Veterans Day approaches, some of us know firsthand the realities of war — we either have family members currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, a grandfather or great-grandfather who is a World War II or Vietnam War veteran — or have lost a loved one to war.
But for many of us, the wars fought today in the Middle East have little impact on our lives — the realities of the soldiers and their families get lost in all the bits and pieces we are bombarded with — a terrible economy, raising children, aging parents, work to better our lives or just to stay even.
Sometimes it takes something powerful — like photographs — to remind us about the sacrifices made by the men and women who serve our country.
The link we provide here is of photographs compiled by the Denver Post of the war in Iraq over the past seven years.
