BONNERS FERRY — Six Bonners Ferry High School varsity football players have been named to the All-League first and second teams.

They are:

First Team: Jr. Alex Awbrey - offensive line, Jr. Adam Lund - defensive line, Jr Reed Bennett - tight end, Jr.Ozzie Braff - linebacker, Sr. Alek Lopez - running back, Sr. Taylor Tompke - defensive back.

Second team: Sr. Austin Skeen - offensive line, senior Chase Mellon - defensive back.

Ozzie Braff was also selected as co-defensive Player of the Year.

The rewards for the seniors, Alek Lopez, Taylor Tompke, Chase Mellon, and Austin Skeen “were well deserved and a great way to finish their football careers at Bonners,” coach Ed DePriest said in an e-mail.

The juniors, Adam Lund, Alex Awbrey, Reed Bennett, and Ozzie Braff “will provide a strong base for next year's team,” the coach added.

With 40 or so underclassmen on the end of season roster, and these All-League juniors, the football program should continue to improve, he said.

“If they commit to the weight room and to doing what other schools like Timberlake do in the off-season, they have the opportunity to be very good next season,” DePriest said.
